Job Responsibilities:

The Edge Banding Material Preparation Master will be responsible for the following key tasks:
Receiving and Inspecting Materials: Accurately receiving incoming shipments of edge banding materials (PVC, melamine, ABS, etc.), meticulously inspecting for defects such as scratches, discoloration, inconsistencies in thickness, and damage during transit. This includes verifying quantities against delivery notes and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Material Sorting and Organization: Efficiently sorting and organizing edge banding materials according to type, color, thickness, and finish. This involves utilizing appropriate storage methods to maintain material integrity and prevent damage or deterioration.
Preparation for Edge Banding Machines: Preparing edge banding materials for use on our high-speed edge banding machines. This includes accurately measuring and cutting materials to the required lengths, ensuring precise cuts to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. The candidate must possess a deep understanding of various edge banding techniques and materials.
Quality Control: Implementing stringent quality control measures throughout the entire preparation process. This involves regularly inspecting materials for defects and ensuring consistency in size, color, and quality. Any discrepancies must be promptly reported to the supervisor.
Waste Management: Minimizing waste generation by optimizing material usage and implementing effective waste management strategies. This includes properly disposing of scrap materials and adhering to company environmental policies.
Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment used in the material preparation process. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of cutting machines, measuring tools, and other related equipment. Reporting any equipment malfunctions promptly to maintenance personnel.
Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of edge banding material inventory, including tracking stock levels, anticipating demand, and ordering new materials as needed. Collaborating with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of materials.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Working effectively as part of a team, collaborating with edge banding operators and other production personnel to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to all factory safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and colleagues. This includes using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following:
Minimum 5 years of experience in edge banding material preparation in a furniture manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to operate and maintain various cutting and measuring tools and equipment.
Strong understanding of different edge banding materials (PVC, melamine, ABS, etc.) and their properties.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
