Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Edge Banding Technician will include, but are not limited to:
Operating and maintaining various edge banding machines, including automatic and manual equipment. This requires a comprehensive understanding of machine settings, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Preparing and feeding materials to the edge banding machines, ensuring accurate alignment and consistent feeding rates for optimal results.
Applying edge banding to various types of wood and wood-based materials, including particleboard, MDF, plywood, and solid wood, with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
Performing quality control checks throughout the process, identifying and correcting any defects or inconsistencies in the edge banding application.
Trimming and finishing edge banding to ensure a smooth, seamless, and aesthetically pleasing finish. This may involve the use of various tools and techniques, including routing, sanding, and polishing.
Maintaining a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
Working collaboratively with other team members to ensure the efficient and timely completion of production goals.
Participating in regular maintenance and upkeep of edge banding equipment, reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs promptly.
Assisting in the selection and procurement of edge banding materials, ensuring consistency in quality and color matching.
Staying abreast of industry best practices and new technologies related to edge banding techniques and equipment.
Adhering to strict quality control standards, meeting production deadlines, and minimizing waste.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Edge Banding Technician in a furniture manufacturing environment. Experience with high-volume production is highly desirable.
Proven ability to operate and maintain various edge banding machines, including automatic and manual equipment.
Thorough understanding of different edge banding materials, including PVC, ABS, veneer, and melamine.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work efficiently and independently, as well as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
Familiarity with various woodworking tools and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills (Mandarin Chinese and basic English preferred).
