First, it is important to choose the right nails for the job. Air nailers use thin, headless nails called staples. The length of the staples will depend on the thickness of the edge banding and the material of the substrate. For most applications, 1-inch staples will be sufficient.

Once you have the right nails, you need to set the air nailer to the correct pressure. The pressure will vary depending on the type of air nailer you are using and the material of the substrate. A good starting point is 80 psi. If the nails are not penetrating the substrate, you can increase the pressure. However, be careful not to set the pressure too high, as this can damage the edge banding.

To attach the edge banding, simply place the edge of the banding against the substrate and fire the nails through the banding into the substrate. Be sure to space the nails evenly, about 2 inches apart. Once the edge banding is attached, you can trim any excess material with a sharp knife.

Here are a few tips for using an air nailer to attach edge banding:
Wear safety glasses and earplugs when using an air nailer.
Make sure the air hose is securely connected to the air nailer.
Hold the air nailer perpendicular to the surface of the substrate.
