Step 1: Determine the Length of the Edge to be Covered

Measure the total length of the edges that need to be covered. This includes the length of all four sides of each board.

Step 2: Multiply the Length by 2

Since each edge band covers both sides of the board, multiply the length of the edge by 2. This gives you the total length of edge banding needed.

Step 3: Divide by 60

Based on the 60 to 18 rule, for every 60 meters (or 196.85 feet) of edge banding, you can cover the edges of approximately 18 boards.

Example:

If you need to cover the edges of 10 boards, each measuring 2 meters in length, the calculation would be as follows:
Length of one board: 2 meters
Edge length (x4 sides): 8 meters
Total edge length: 8 x 10 = 80 meters
Total edge banding needed: 80 x 2 = 160 meters
Number of edge bands required (160 ÷ 60): Approximately 3

Therefore, to cover the edges of 10 boards, you would need approximately 3 edge bands.
